Sculpture in Cast Paper

Art papers must be of acid-free, natural fibers to ensure that they do not discolor or disintegrate with time. I maserate cotton linters in a water bath and, after adding an acid-free bonding agent, hand-apply, i.e., cast, the mixture into a mold. Excess water is sponged out of the mold and the "paper" allowed to air-dry.

The cast paper is then sealed front and back with clear acrylic spray and then mounted on a linen-covered stretcher. Ordinarily, the pieces are framed under clear plexiglass. Smaller works are done in editions of up to 100, and larger ones in as few as ten. These sculptures are frequently designed for specific sites.

These first three reliefs may be purchased as a group or individually.
